Dr. Braithwaite is a Technical Consultant at Growth Perspectives Limited (GPL) and a Lecturer / Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of the West Indies, Mona. A well respected Caribbean-based Economic Analyst and independent thinker, Dr. Braithwaite is known for proffering thought-provoking yet balanced analyses on topics related to, e.g., economic development, productivity and international trade in Jamaica and Guyana – his home country.

 

Dr. Braithwaite has undertaken consultancy engagements or development projects funded by the United Nations (UN) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). He made a substantial contribution to a recently concluded IDB Consultancy Project on Caribbean Integration – a topic dear to his heart.

 

Dr. Braithwaite earned PhD and MA degrees in Economics from Temple University, USA. He also holds a BSS degree in Economics (First Class Hons.) from the University of Guyana.

 

Dr. Braithwaite is a member of GPL’s Strategy Practice. He focuses on the firm’s government and multilateral agency business and is available for engagements in one or more of the following sub-domains: public finance and debt, economic development as well as diversification, regional and international trade, and sector transformation.
