Dr. Tayaza Fadason is a Genetic Scientist and Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer who currently serves as a Director and the Innovation Practice Leader at Growth Perspectives Limited. He is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Expert and a Big Data Specialist with more than nine (9) years of experience in academia, software development and innovation enabling.
Up until a few years ago, Dr. Fadason wrote computer software as a leisure activity. These days, he is the Data Engineering Lead and an AI Programmer at Together – a New Zealand-based global Media-Tech firm, from which he received the 2022 Together Innovation Award within six months of his employment for pushing the firm’s strategic thinking and innovation activities well beyond the organizational and industry boundaries. Dr. Fadason later received the 2023 Beacons Awards for the best use of data in relation to the deployment of machine learning to improve personalized experience for a New Zealand Government agency. He is also a Visiting Research Fellow at the Liggins Institute, University of Auckland, where he uses data science and bioinformatics to investigate risk predication and the development of human genetic disorders and publishes peer-reviewed articles in international conferences and journals. Prior to this appointment and the commencement of his doctoral studies in New Zealand, Dr. Fadason held lectureships and other senior academic positions in Nigeria. Dr. Fadason earned the 2015 Best Lecturer Award innovative teaching at Kaduna State University in Nigeria.
Dr. Fadason is a Certified Data Engineer who holds a Ph.D. Degree in Biomedical Sciences, University of Auckland – where he held a Marsden Scholarship, earned the 2019 Liggins Leadership Award for leading the institute’s postgraduate student body and the 2017 Fisher and Paykel Research Award for best presentation at the Queenstown Molecular Biology Conference. He also holds a MSc. Degree (Distinction) in Molecular Biology with Bioinformatics, University of Wolverhampton, UK, and a BSc. in Microbiology, University of Jos – Nigeria.
Dr. Fadason is passionate about data analytics, risk prediction and AI programming and uses his expertise in these areas to help our firm’s government and private sector clients to create innovation cultures as well as novel products and processes, which can provide comparative advantages and extend their country and organizational competitiveness.
